Conceives, writes and manages graphics and interactives for the Gannett network of 155+ news properties, reaching up to 110 million people monthly.

 

Accomplishments:

  • Developed and manages a weekly design jam program that incubates creative, socially-minded news products for national distribution.

  • Ideated a mobile-first platform currently in development that incentivizes millennials to engage with local news.

Leads development and business partnerships for Moochie, a hyperlocal social sharing app for college students in beta at University of California, Los Angeles. Trained in “lean startup” design thinking strategies with the constantly iterating product.

McLean, Va. — May 2011 - March 2014

 

Built the digital and social agenda for USA TODAY Books as the first person solely devoted to its online coverage. Reported several high-profile stories.

 

Accomplishments:

  • Started @USATODAYBooks (15k followers) and began the Book Buzz blog, a daily aggregation of publishing industry news

  • Moderator at several widely-attended book events including the National Book Festival (2012 and 2013), iTunes “Meet the Author” series (2013) and BookCon at BookExpo America (2013 and 2014).
